FCS-FNW-6 Students
will demonstrate through communication and reading labels the importance of
the Nutrition Facts panel and identify
number of servings per container.
Bellwork: Students will watch Youtube Clip: How to read a nutrition facts label. They will write down two facts from the 9min. clip.( It is reveiw from Monday's notes)
Work Session: Reading and Understanding Labels
1. Check for grade: Check out the label worksheet. Students will use the label to answer the questions.
2. Students will complete worksheet: How to read food labels. Students will pick a food package and answer 13 questions associated with the empty food or drink package.
3. Class will be introduced to Chapter 9 MyPramid (MyPlate). Students will take a mini pretest about "How much should I eat?". It will be checked for correct responses.
4. Students will watch DVD: How much should I eat? while viewing the film they will complete a 3-2-1 summary. 3-things they found out, 2-interesting things, 1 question they still have.
