Students took a test over Chapter 6 Carbohydrates and Chapter 7 Proteins & Fats. They have been given their test score.

Food, Nutrition, and Wellness (FNW)

We are discussing and studying the six basic nutrients [The Building Blocks for Health]. We are on the 5th & 6th nutrient Chapter 8 Vitamins & Minerals.  They have completed a guided reading worksheet to cover the vitamins and a Go to the Source [minerals]The next nutrient will be Chapter 9 Water & Phytochemicals. Students will do class work as it relates to the 6th nutrient There will be a test over these two chapters date {tbd}....

We are currently discussing Chapter 6 [Carbohydrates] and Chapter 7 [Fats & Proteins]. We have completed the Gardners' Tic Tac Toe assessment activity[ check pinnacle for grades]. Assignments will be counted as late from this point on. Students were given daily opportunities to work in class, before and after school, and at home.

~FACS~

All of the FACS students [except 3rd block blue day] have started presenting their birth defect projects. They are being graded on content, visual, questions, and presentations [100%].
Students in 3rd block blue day will resume to work on their projects the week of Oct 18th and present to their class.

FACS

We are currently studying about Pregnancy with an emphasis on congential disabilities [birth defects]. They were given a TWO homework assignments [Monday & Tuesday]. One was to design their child, the other was a family history interview that required a parent signature both are due [Wednesday & Thursday].

They will start to work on a problem pregnancy [birth defect] media/technology project. They will become an expert on one birth defect and learn about others from their classmates.

We are still working on the Early Childhood Standard: Deciding to be a Parent & Pregnancy. In the next  couple days they will have Chapter 8 Test, homework as it relates to birth defects, and  a group technology project.
