From the principal's desk:

02/26/2018
Dear South Cobb Community,

I would like to thank all parents and students that took the time to contact the school and communicate a concern to our administrative team.  Several students were involved in a text thread that discussed the possibility of a school shooting on our campus today.  As the principal at South Cobb High School, the safety of our students and staff is my top priority.  This morning I met with our entire administrative team and campus officers to discuss the concern and implement a plan of action.  Today alone, we met with every student that was involve with this rumor and we are trying to find out the origin of this threat to our school, staff and students.

We know it takes all of us working together to raise our children, and it is critical that we talk with our children on a daily basis and have direct conversations about their various social media accounts.  We need to know who our children talk with on a daily basis and we need to know if they are talking about subjects that could be potentially harmful to themselves or others.  When and if you discover something that is of concern, please reach out to me or any administrator via email or phone call.  It is our responsibility to take care of all children at South Cobb High School.  Don’t ever feel that you are inconveniencing anyone at the school if you have a concern.  It is our job to respond to any and all issues that could potentially harm our children.  The earlier we know the faster we can respond!

Prom Info:

Good morning,

Starting this year, juniors and seniors will be able to purchase prom tickets online through their My Payments Plus accounts. Tickets sales are open from now until March 19th. The cost is $80 per ticket. Date tickets can be purchased online as well. An official document with ticket sale information will be handed out when we get back from break, but if you teach juniors and seniors, please go ahead and start spreading the word that this is a viable option this year (or if you hear of any students talking about it, yes, this is happening).

Thank you!
