Warm Up: Students will list at least two things I know about the FACS class.
Instructional Plan: 1. Class Expectations/Rules (sign sheet, room tour, mandatory folder policy) PPT~ Discussion & Questions
2. Class Decription~ Q& A
3. Introduction Activities:
1. Autograph hunt
2. Compare/Contrast: In groups of six each student will list 1 thing that all have in common and1 thing that is different. The leader will give one of each in the class discussion.
3. Student Interest Inventory
Closing Summarizer: List one class expectation/rule on post it note

Instructional Plan: 1. Introduction activity: Grouping using envelope~ students will use other half of paper to identify 4 things in each corner. Students will discuss as a group and share with the class.
2. Beyond Scared Straight video clips (2-2min. clips)
3. Goals & Mission Statement activity PPt, index cards, colored construction paper
Closing Summarizer: Discuss Beyond Scared Straight vs. Goals/Mission statement for life

Warm Up: Bully Situation Cards: Students (groups of two) will write a response and share.Instructional Plan: 1. Following Instructions Activity/Handout: (GA Peach Pathways handout) 2. Video: Pursuit of Happyness~ Students will complete a video commentary. They will write a review for a blog about the video. Students will be provided with a format.
Closing Summarizer: Post it note: One thing I looking forward to learning about in FACS.
