2.{TRG handout p.204} Ex Basic Skills Worksheet: Roles, Goals and Priorities. Students will identify their roles and priotize tem in terms of personal importance and demand resources. Then they are to answer questions about balancing their roles.
Topic 7-3 Handling Family Crises
Bellwork: Students will tell how they describe the term crisis. *write responses on the board*
2. Introduce Chapter: student reads objectives and introductory paragraph. Will discuss book definition of crisis.
3. Activity C, [SAG] p. 50 Family Crises Pyramid: students are to use terms and concepts from the topic to complete a word puzzle (topic terms for chapter)
Closing Summarizer: Have you or your family experienced crises that changed the family? (post it note: yes or no)
4th block1. Complete Topic 7-2 Family and Life Work handout: students are working with shoulder partner and will identify what they consider to be the positive and negatives of work on family life and of family life on work. (TRGp.203] *Class discussion

Topic 7-1 Building Functional Families
Instructional Plan: 1. Student will read objectives and introductory paragraph p. 184
2. Cloze (Whole group) reading p.184 -187 Making and keeping families strong..Notes with 7 point graphic organizer3. Reinforce Assignment: [TRG] p. 195~ Teen Issues and Parent Issues: Divide the whiteboard in half at the top of one side write Teen Issues, other side Parent Issues. Ask students to list issues they feel their parents don't understand about them. Then students will list issues they don't understand about their parents. Class discussion on what they think is the reason behind the apparent lack of mutual understanding.
4. Enrich Activity: [TRG p.197]: Giving a Gift of Appreciation. This activity guides students to write words of appreciation to give to a family member. After composing the words of appreciation students will create a greeting card and place the word of appreciation inside. Have students give their cards to the people for whom they composed. Student volunteers can share. Topic 7-1 (RF) What Family Living Means, students will give examples that illustrate ways families fulfill various rights and responsibilities.
Topic 7-2 Introduce the chapter and objectives: Balancing Work and Family
1. (RF) Family Life and Work students will work with shoulder partner and write what they consider to be positive and negative effects of work on family life and of family life on work.
