FNW~Blue day
2nd blockChapter 40 Sandwiches & Pizza
Warm Up: Pick a Sandwich, Any Sandwich. Students will down the first thing that comes to mind when they hear the word sandwich. We will discuss the number of different choices the class came up with. Draw conclusions about wheter people to identify the word "sandwich" with just a few specific types.
Instructional Plan: 1. Student will read objectives and terms p. 559 (Skim the chapter) read introductory paragraph
2. Writing Activity: We We Love Sandwiches. Students will write a paragraph explaining why the sandwich is such a popular food.
3. Reading Check questions~Textbook p. 560-566
4. Chapter 40 Activity worksheet pkt 1-3 pg. 142-144 *use the textbook to find the answers*
Closing Summarizer: List one of your favorite sandwiches and why

4. Critical Thinking: Comparing and Contrasting grilled and broiled sandwiches p. 564
5. Quick Write ~ Using Transitions: p.558 Students will rewrite the paragraph to include transitions between sentences
